08 Jul For the Non-Believers of Online Dating – Slindir is Born
It’s totally natural to resist change. Pretty sure I was the last one in my age group to get a mobile phone, even worse about eventually getting a smart phone! But as usual, once I did, I couldn’t remember how I survived without it.
There is a reason they call the traditional way of meeting the ‘old’ way. Because unfortunately, it’s outdated. But why?? Well, if you think about it, there just aren’t as many opportunities for social interaction in our daily lives as there used to be. Previously, we used to have to go to the bank to do our banking. We had to go to the supermarket to get groceries. We had to go to the shops to buy clothes. But now, all that can be done online. It’s quicker, it’s more convenient and technically, should give us more time to do other things. Hooray!! But for use who needed these occasions to meet the man/woman of our dreams ‘just by chance’, is really hurting our story. There was a bit of ‘luck’ involved before, but now we are really screwed.
So really, it should be no surprise that dating has followed suit. And I was exactly the same, resisting online dating just like I resisted everything else. But now knowing my chances were even less of stumbling into Mr Right at the supermarket, let alone ensuring his face wasn’t in his phone, I knew it was time to give it a try.
And the more I thought about it, I realized that online wasn’t a negative, but it actually gave me a bit of an edge. Here me out. If you go to a bar, you have no idea what anyone’s availability is, their gender preference, what they are into, so it really is a shot in the dark. What was I thinking!! But with online, you know all this upfront, have access to more people than ever, AND most importantly… you know they are single and looking for a companion as well!!! Seemed like a bit of leg up to me!
This eye opener was GREAT. Once again, how did I survive before this! It was also lifesaver just after a break up to give an instant rush of hope back that there were plenty of single men still out there.
There is a reason they call the traditional way of meeting the ‘old’ way. Because unfortunately, it’s outdated.
But there was still one problem. You see, I’m a little bit particular. Not so much about looks or income, that’s all a bonus. The most important criteria for me, was that they needed to fit & active. And while some men ‘claimed’ to be this way on their profile, it just wasn’t to my level. I agree the amount I exercise is probably over the top, but that’s just who I am. It’s part of my DNA, and I needed someone who was this way this too. But unfortunately, these sites just weren’t niche enough for me to find these type of people.
Hence, Slindir was born. To bring together those who can say “Active is my DNA, feeling good is my purpose”, because we understand why it’s such a pivotal part of our everyday lives. And you shouldn’t have to compromise on something that makes you so happy, but rather have the opportunity to share it with someone as it contributes to shared positive experiences.
And for those with our lifestyle, making the most of the day easily outweighs late nights with the ‘hope’ of meeting someone. Another plus for online and Slindir can narrow it down even further by matching on what matters.
So no, Slindir is not for everyone, and that’s ok.
But for those like us, what a great place to meet someone. The opportunity for love and companionship is literally at your fingertips. How lucky are we!!
